Professional Background

Samuel is an experienced professional with over 14 years history of offering legal advisory and consultancy services. He heads the firm’s corporate and commercial practice. Prior to co-founding Aret and Bret LLP, Samuel was a Senior Counsel with the Dispute Resolution team of the largest law firm in Nigeria, where he advised diverse clients, local and international, on energy and natural resources, taxation, labour and employment relations, land acquisition and compensation, environment & land use, admiralty, contracts, banking, telecommunication, regulatory compliances etc. Samuel also has a robust litigation experience from handling high-profile cases in all courts in Nigeria, having spent a substantial part of his practice in the dispute resolution team of the firm where he began his career.
Samuel has a penchant for writing and has authored and co-authored several articles on diverse fields of law, including environmental litigation, pleadings, labour and employment etc.
Samuel is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and Admiralty Lawyers Society of Nigeria. When not so busy, Samuel loves watching classic movies.
